MENUMBUHKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF MATEMATIS SISWA MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN INKUIRI

ABSTRACT

This is an experimental study, involving XIth graders at Senior High School in Bengkulu. The data in this study were collected from July through October 2009. The instruments used were a test of prior knowledge of mathematics and mathematical ability tests of creative thinking. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that in general, the students’ mathematical creative thinking ability who received inquiry learning was better than that of the students who received regular learning. Besides, learning model, the level of schools and students’ prior knowledge of mathematics significantly affected the students’ ability in mathematical creative thinking. Furthermore, there was an interaction between the level of schools and learning models towards students’ mathematical creative thinking ability; and finally, there was an interaction between student’s prior knowledge of mathematics and learning model toward mathematical creative thinking ability.
